MEMPHIS, Tenn. — One of the victims of a shooting that killed two people Sunday evening was identified as Cameron Stokes.

He is the brother of Cateria Stokes, the teen who was fatally shot last April.

Memphis Fire responded to the Hamlets Condominiums on Encino Cove shortly before 8 p.m.

They found two male victims, both with gunshot wounds, in a car.

Both were pronounced dead on the scene.

Cateria Stokes was only 15 years old when she was killed in a drive-by shooting while she was asleep in April in Parkway Village.

Their brother, Carlos Stokes, was arrested in April for the murder of 7-year-old Kirsten Williams.

According to an affidavit, a co-defendant identified Carlos Stokes as the person who planned that shooting in retaliation for the shooting of a 22-year-old man.

Police belive that shooting was drug and gang-related.

Cameron Stokes and Tyson Mitchell were two of four murder victims in Memphis this weekend.

Police said around noon Sunday, someone fired shots at two men standing in the driveway in the 3500 block of Gowan. Gunfire struck one of the men, and he died.

“Yeah, it’s getting a little out of hand,” said neighbor Vernon Jett.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. Sundy, a woman flagged down officers on Frayser Boulevard near Range Hills Drive. She told them someone stabbed her 15-year-old son. The teenager died on the scene.

Police are still investigating these other cases.
